ArsÚne on Newcastle

It was a great performance and great result at home to Newcastle on Saturday. The only negative aspect for us was the injury to Robert Pires.
He has twisted his knee and he needs a scan to see how bad it is. It's very difficult to set a date for his come back at the moment, but it looks like he'll be out for the next two games at least. It could be for longer but we don't know yet. It could be a big blow for us because he will miss a few games.
We were under big pressure before the game and we had a very short recovery time after the Juventus defeat on Wednesday, but the boys were brilliant. It was a great start, and we showed great character again, this team has shown unbelievable strengths for three or four months now and they responded well again on Saturday.
Dennis Bergkamp was brilliant. Everything he did was intelligent, clean and sharp. The game he played deserved another goal at least. It was just marvellous to watch. I believe this team continues to show just what is needed to get results. We have been without Tony Adams for five or six months, and obviously every team would miss Thierry Henry who was missing today. So we need the whole squad and they have all responded well.
With Robert missing we still have a lot of options, for example Freddie Ljungberg could play on the left and Sylvain Wiltord on the right, but ideally we do not want any more players suspended or injured. A decision on when we play Manchester United in the re-arranged league fixture will be made soon. It could be an advantage for us to play them in the last week, I'm not against it, but we will decide on that soon.
Next it's back the Premiership and we look forward to our home match against Sunderland this Saturday, which is another crucial game for us.
