1860 Munich
This game took place at Innsbruck, Austria, on Saturday 3rd August at 7:30pm as part of the club's pre-season friendly fixtures.
Final result was 3-1. Arsenal's goalscorer was Thierry Henry (hat trick).
The offical report from Arsenal.com: "Thierry Henry continued his pre-season goalscoring form with a hat-trick in this friendly encounter against Bundesliga outfit 1860 Munich. Arsenal fans also saw the final debut of our summer signings as goalkeeper Fabian Carini took up his position between the sticks for the second half. Henry opened the scoring towards the end of the first half, tapping in a short pass from Dennis Bergkamp. But the Germans equalised in the second half thanks to Paul Agostino, who powered home a header from a great cross. Arsenal were not to be kept down, however, and Henry got his second after some great work by Jeremie Aliadiere finished with a deflection off the post falling to Henry, who again had only to tap it home. And it was 3-1 with just over five minutes to go when Bergkamp squared the ball into the box and Henry half-volleyed past the 'keeper. It was another good early workout for the Gunners, in a game which also saw England stars Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Martin Keown and David Seaman make a return to action."
